MSHSL COMPETITION
The Minnesota State High School League Section Visual Art Competitions are held across the State of Minnesota. At each Section competition, students may receive a Superior Level or Excellent Level award. Judges at each competition also select works to receive Spotlight on the Art Awards.

Visual Arts State Festival Exhibition
This exhibition highlights "Spotlight on the Arts" recipients from the section level. The recipients are given the opportunity to display their work, discuss their artistic process and celebrate their achievement at the State Festival.

Each school may enter up to 18 works of art at the subsection or section levels.
No more than one-third of the allowed artworks are to be submitted in any one category per school.
Each student may submit artwork(s) in one or more categories.
