Create a Student Welcome for Big Ten Basketball Tournaments

Art & PE Opportunity for Big Ten Basketball Teams

Let's give the Big Ten teams traveling to Minneapolis for the 2024 Big Ten Women’s and Men's Basketball Tournaments a warm, Minnesota welcome! Minnesota Sports and Events is looking for twenty-eight elementary schools to decorate welcome banners for each of the Big Ten teams. This project can be done as a classroom project or a school-wide project. 28 elementary schools will be assigned one team and provided a tournament-branded 4'x6' vinyl banner to decorate with welcome messages, words of encouragement for the players, and pictures. These banners will be displayed in the lobby of the team hotel for their arrival to Minneapolis, and then displayed in their team meeting rooms while they are here for the tournaments.

Each elementary school will be asked to take a picture with their finished banner to be shared with the teams and displayed in Target Center during the tournament.
