This is an initial nomination form. It requires basic information and explanation of why you believe this individual merits the selected award. The deadline for submitting this initial ballot is May 31, 2026.Final candidates will be informed by June 5th. They will be provided information to submit a formal nomination ballot by August 15, 2026.
AEM AWARD CATEGORIES INCLUDE:
EMERGING ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR: Awarded to an art teacher in their first 3 years of educational leadership and demonstrate effectiveness in the classroom/school community.DIVISIONAL for ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR: This is awarded to an AEM member who significantly contributes to the individual's division in art education. These categories include: Elementary, Middle, Secondary, Higher Education, K-12, Museum Education, Service within Profession, Administration/Supervision and Emeritus on the local, state and/or national levels.
The official MINNESOTA ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR will be selected by the AEM board based on the overall winners of the DIVISIONAL categories.
Award ceremony celebrations will be held at the 2026 Fall Conference in St. Louis Park on Oct 23, 2026.
