March is Youth Art Month (YAM), but you can celebrate it every month of the year!
Get ready for AEM’s celebration of Youth Art Month, THE CAPITOL ART SHOW! We are continuing to partner with Sargent Art for sponsorship. Work submitted will be part of a juried exhibit with prizes including generous art supplies for age category winners and an all expense paid TRIP TO NEW YORK for the best of show artist, one parent and their art educator!
AEM sponsors the State Capitol Art Exhibit featuring fine student artwork from across the state. This year’s show will run from March 24th – 30st. Each participating teacher may submit TWO artworks. These submissions are due to the address below by March 4th, 2013. A student and teacher contact information and artist statement is required for each entry. See mailing address attached form below for details.
AEM also sponsors the state YAM flag competition. The winning designs are used to create state flag that is flown in Washington D.C at an arts advocacy event and dispalyed at the NAEA convention, the advertising poster for the Capitol Art Show and the invitation postcard for the Capitol Art Show. The contest for 2013 is underway. Please note the deadline for submitting digital photos of your entries to the Flag Contest this year. Digital photos must be recieved by December 15th, and emailed to the Youth Art Month email address below.
AEM members should also record your 2013 YAM observance activities in your school, district or community. You may download the form below.
